Background: In the evolution of myocardial infarction the gender could be a pronostic factor.Aim: Are there differences in the evolution of myocardial infarction between men and women?
Materials and methods: databases and information of clinical evolution and treatment of patients with myocardial infarction in differents hospitals of Chile.
Results: mortality rates in women were higher than man, and the women used to have more risk factors asociated.
Conclusion: Female sex is an independent risk factor for myocardial infarction mortality.
